Enjoy cooking workshops and treat yourself with amazing local food and wine while discovering the majesty of Morocco’s stunning ancient Imperial Cities and Atlas Mountains.

This short tour (5 days/4 nights) will take you from Marrakesh, center of ancient empires that hold today’s power and royal palaces, to the High Atlas Mountains. We will also stop at the charming city of Essaouira and spend an unforgettable night in a Berber village.

Our philosophy as expert travel guides in Morocco since 1987 is to enhance your experience without hindering your journey. We are there when you need us, and give you the opportunity to explore on your own if you desire, until you are ready to return home with a plenty of tales of Arabian nights and days.

ABOUT MOROCCO CUISINE: Morocco, the culinary star of North Africa, is the doorway between Europe and Africa. Much imperial and trade influence has been filtered through her and blended into her culture. Unlike the herb-based cooking across the sea to the north, Moroccan cooking is characterized by rich spices. Cumin, coriander, saffron, chiles, dried ginger, cinnamon, and paprika are on the cook’s shelf, and in her mortar. Harissa, a paste of garlic, chiles, olive oil, and salt, makes for firey dishes that stand out among the milder foods that are more the Mediterranean norm. Ras el hanout (which means head of the shop) names a dried spice mixture that combines anywhere from 10 to 100 spices.

Stroll through serene squares, browse artisan shops and peruse art galleries before indulging in a sensational seaside lunch, where freshly caught fish of the day is grilled to a succulent finish before your eyes. Top it off with famous Moroccan mint tea and sinfully good French pastries at one Essaouira’s many cafes with the locals. We will make a special stop for wine testing in the area as well as a special visit to one of the argan oil cooperatives.
