After arrival at noon, transfer from “Mother Teresa” airport to the hotel in downtown Tirana. Founded in 1614, Tirana became the capital of Albania in 1920 and is the main cultural and industrial centre of Albania. The city boulevards are marked with fascinating relics of the Ottoman, Italian and communist past.
Tirana has changed incredibly in the last twenty years, from the dull, gray city it once was. Tirana is a city where fun is guaranteed: lively, loud, crazy, colorful, simply fascinating.
In the afternoon, a tour of the city is planned along with a visit to the National Historical Museum, Et’hem Bey Mosque, Skanderbeg monument, clock tower. Dinner will be provided at a traditional restaurant in Tirana, where you can choose between various dishes on the menu. Then, you will be accompanied to the hotel. Wt 2 h (-/-/D)
Tirana, the vibrant capital, 110 m
The first stop of the day is Shkodra, the cultural, economic and political centre of the northern Albania. Shkodra has an over 2400-years history and is one of the oldest inhabited cities in Albania. Numerous people, countries and cultures have left their traces on this city of culture. Many places, sights, monuments, memorials, statues and ruins, bear witness of this eventful history. After a brief exploration of the city and after lunch in a traditional restaurant in Shkodra, we continue our trip to Theth. The accommodation is provided in a simple but clean guest house with shared rooms. In the evening, will be discussed the program for the next few days. Wt 2 h (B/L/D)
Shkodra and the oldest village in the Albanian alps: Theth, 750m.
This day begins with a cognitive walk in the countryside to visit the church and the " Lock-in Tower" (Kulla e ngujimit). Then, the walk will take northeast up to Theth - Ulaj, where we will continue through a scree path into the beech woods and along a trail invisible at times, which gets increasingly steep up to the field of Dënell, 1600m above sea level. It is surrounded by a chain of high mountains from where the view of the Valley of Theth is very beautiful. After a short break, we will follow the same route back to the guest house. (B/L/D)

We start the day with a hike towards the gorge of Grunas, which is 30 meters high and one meter wide, and waterfall of Grunas. After a short break we walk along the river, mostly through the forest, on a path that sometimes becomes steeper, up to Ndërlysa. The glacier mills of Ndërlysa offer a unique spectacle of nature: The waters of Lumi i Zi (Black River) squeeze through a narrow approach that has arisen over the millennia. Rounded and sharp rock formations, in the sunlight shimmering colors of water and stone can be observed from both shores. We continue in the direction of the "Blue Eye of Kapreja" (Syri i Kaltër i Kapresë), a natural pool with amazing blue water in a jungle-like environment. After a short break, we follow the same path to the guest house. On our way back we will visit the mill of Kolaj which is operated with water from Thethi River. (B/L/D)

This is a hike along trails that offer amazing scenery and diverse landscapes. We will march northward toward Okol and the Mountain of Arapi will be rising in front of us with its southern wall almost perpendicular. The trail goes through the woods. When we arrive to the foot of Arapi, the first of four Arapi caves will unfold before us. This is the longest horizontal cave in Albania. The cave is 346 m in depth; temperatures inside are very low and there is even potable water. After visiting the cave and taking a short break, we will follow the same route back to the guest house. The Mountain of Zorzi is located southwest of Theth with a height of 1663 meters. Initially the trail goes gently through meadows and fields and then through woods up to the Large Praçe (Praçe e madhe). From here the trail to the top goes through steep rocky terrain that requires sure-footedness and special care. At the top you will be rewarded with a stunning view. The return route passes mainly through woods or grassland up to Theth. (B/L/D).

Arrival in Tirana around 16:00 clock. Time for a break and then we take the cable car to Dajti mountain, part of Dajti National Park. The mountain has two main summits: Dajti (1,613 m) and Tujani (1531 m) north of it, both covered with dense beech forests. Dajti mountain is part of Krujë-Dajt mountain range, which rises abruptly from the coastal plain and is cut by deep river valleys. The mountain consists mainly of limestone. From the cable car terminal at Fusha e Dajtit (1050 m) there’s a magnificent view over Tirana, Durrës and the whole central-west Albania up to the Adriatic sea. Here we will have dinner at a traditional restaurant "A la carte" and then return in Tirana. You can have a drink in one of the nice bars in "Blloku" quarter, the most animated quarter of the capital. (B/ L/ D)
The return trip to Tirana runs through Lezha.
