Welcome to Buenos Aires, Argentina’s atmospheric and sultry capital. To ease you into Latin living we’ve arranged a walking tour taking in San Martin Park, Florida Street and La Recoleta, the city’s famous cemetery for the great and the good. The following day we’ll take you to La Boca, the colourful port area once inhabited by Italian immigrants and home to football giants, Boca Juniors. We’ll swing by colonial San Telmo, Casa Rosada and the Plaza de Mayo, concluding with pastries and coffee at BA institution Café Tortoni.

Day4 - 5
Buenos Aires / Posadas
Hop on an internal flight to Posadas, where you’ll be driven to Hotel Puerto Valle to enjoy your time in the wetlands.

Day5 - 7
Spend the next two days exploring the Ibera Natural Reserve. You could take to the saddle or aboard a boat to explore one of the largest freshwater reservoirs on the continent, spotting the neotropical otter, maned wolf, pampas and marshland deer, plus two species of caiman.

Day7 - 8
Posadas / Iguazu
Your trip across to Iguazu includes a stop to visit San Ignacio, one of the oldest Jesuit missions in the region. You’ll be able to walk around the missions and visit many of the buildings.

Day8 - 9
Iguazu
Touring the magnificent Iguazu Falls from the Argentinian side you’ll take a train shuttle to the impressive Devil’s Gorge, meandering along pathways surrounded by tropical plants, butterflies and bird that lead along the top of the falls. Lunch will be in Brazil (no, really) as you head across to the Brazilian side, heading over the walkway that brings you within arm’s reach of the thundering cascades. We’d recommend a boat ride along the river to get closer to the falls, or perhaps a helicopter flight for stunning aerial views.

Day9 - 10
Iguazu / Salta
A short flight delivers you to Salta, where you’ll have a walking tour on arrival. The city has a decidedly Hispanic flavour, its colonial houses framed by beautiful mountains dotted with Incan sanctuaries.

Day10 - 11
Salta / Cafayate
A scenic drive away is Cafayate, your last stop on your epic northern tour. You’ll travel through the Calchaquies Valley, a region created by turbulent pre-Incan and colonial history, carved by the wind with traditional adobe towns. Your home for the next three nights is the stylish Grace Cafayate.

Day11 - 12
Today you may drive through the breath taking Quebrada de las Fechas to the charming villages of Molinos and Seclantas to bear witness to the native culture of the area. You’ll stop off at Estancia Colome, where the oldest vines in South America date from the 19th century are at grown at the highest altitude on the continent. Colome’s wine experts will explain the methods of production and you’ll have lunch here, along with a tasting of the excellent wines. One of the highlights of Colome is the James Turrell Museum, built on the premises in 2009.

Day12 - 13
Head back to Salta City via the amazing rock formations of the Quebrada de Cafayate. In Salta you’ll board a short flight to Buenos Aires for your connection back home.
