A true wilderness experience for women.

Explore the last wilderness in Europe with other active women. Experience this untouched winter world on traditional forest skis and spend a night in a heated wilderness hut.

Our experienced, professional wilderness guide will lead you through arctic pine forests and across the tundra, teach you how to ski on traditional forest skis, orient yourself in the forest and how to build a fire in the snow.

The wilderness hut is basic but cozy.

Situated next to a lake, there is no electricity or running water so we can fully enjoy the silence of nature.

Active Arctic: Wilderness Skiing for Women is based on Lake Miekojärvi near Överkalix in northern Sweden. You stay in one of our typical Swedish cottages on Lake Miekojarvi. Each is centrally-heated and designed for comfort and relaxation after our daily activities.

All meals provided are specialities of Lapland and created using local products.

There is plenty of time for conversation, relaxation and socialising around a campfire, in the sauna, the wilderness hut and the cottages. At night you might also see the Northern Lights dancing across in the sky!

You need to be physically fit for this tour and skiing experience is essential.

We also suggest spending a day or two in Luleå either before or after Active Arctic: Wilderness Skiing for Women. We’re sure you’ll be surprised by the diverse experiences it has to offer.

The trip is limited to 4-8 women.
