If you are listing your home/apartment for a Homestay, here are some tips to help you be the best host you can be.
Be clear with your guests with rules regarding:
Make sure that any landlord, property owner, co-op board, etc… don’t have any issues with subletting or allowing guests to stay at your place. Also notify any roommates, and clearly state to any potential guests that you have roommates.
Leave your contact information (phone, email) with your guests. It would also be helpful to leave local emergency numbers (police, ambulance, etc…)
You are responsible for any applicable local taxes and/or licenses, as well as any zoning, safety or health permits, if any, mandated in your local area.
Make sure to check your renters or homeowners insurance policy to see your coverage and liability.
